Rainbow Zinnia Planter

Dear Bonsai readers, how does your garden grow? Is it hanging from ribbons in a tree? Probably not. But if you do this fun and easy craft that keeps bottles out of the landfill, it will be!

What You Need
Empty water bottle
Ribbon, wire, or pipe cleaners- basically any kind of cord
Soil
Seeds for small plants like flowers
Scissors
Pushpin
Toothpick

What You Do
Poke four holes in a large rectangle around the bottle, these will mark where the opening will be. Cut open the rectangle with your scissors and recycle the cut plastic. Then get your ribbon/cord. Tie one end around the cap of the bottle, which should be screwed on tightly. Then, tie the other end around the back of the bottle. After that is done, fill it with soil. Poke two or three holes with your toothpick, as deep as possible. Put your seeds in and cover the holes with dirt. Hang from a hook outside, or a sturdy branch on a tree, and water every morning. Then make a lot more!
